Spring Dreaming!

Driving on the roads yesterday, I was wishing that I was that person who loves winter. Sadly, I am not that person. I miss the sun, the warmth, and the magic of new life growing from the ground that Spring brings. So, while I play dodge the potholes with my car, look at the now dirty black snow, and the clouds in the sky, I will keep counting the days until Spring. :)

Bridging the Gap

This is another fall photo taken at one of the parks I frequent all year-round. I loved the look of this scene because of the many colors that were on display for fall. The bridge goes over the man-made lake that has fountains sprouting through it in the summer. Even in the winter, when the fountains are off for the season, I always find something interesting here to photograph. Hope you enjoy!

Pink Pearl

I have two yellow bushes in my front yard that produce tiny little pink buds twice during the year. These buds are so tiny, most people would not even notice them. They have been in my yard for 3 years now, and this is really the first time that I actually took a good look at them. They are about the size of a dime. When they started to bloom, I saw that they were absolutely gorgeous pink colors with pearly white strands around them. I have no idea of what they are, but up close you can see how beautiful they are. Enjoy!

Just Pink!

Just a photo of some of my flowers from my garden. These are really beautiful pink blossoms, and I cannot remember the name of them, but they are just one of many in my garden that put a smile on my face when they are in bloom. Enjoy, and have a great weekend!

Sunrise Freedom

As I came down to the lake a few morning ago, I felt so peaceful watching the sunrise. I was all alone, with the ducks, the geese, and my thoughts. Of course, I was trying to think of how to create a beautiful sunrise photo as I watched the sky slowly change from darkness to the beautiful sky seen here. My other thoughts were of the meaning of this Memorial Day weekend. Memorial Day is always bittersweet for me because of my great memories of celebration every year as a child, and handing down the same traditions to my two kids. For the last few years, my memories of this weekend are of my nephew Steve. Steve was just 19 years old when he joined the Army. When he was 20, he was stationed in Iraq. He was there for 4 months when he was killed on Christmas Eve in 2008. To this day, it is so senseless to me that we have lost so many lives fighting for this country. Steve was one of the best. A great smile, infectious laugh, funny sense of humor and I always loved having him around. So, as I am able to "freely" stand here and see another beautiful sunrise, I am giving thanks to those that paid the ultimate price and gave all!

Catching Rays

This is a photo of yet another blossom tree. I'm not sure what kind, as there are so many different ones blooming all over right now. Some of these blossoms are so tiny, so thin, and so fragile, yet their beauty never ceases to amaze! I was with my kids for Mother's Day last weekend, and the home we were at had two different blossom trees outside. It was terribly windy out, so before I left, I snapped a branch from the two different trees and brought them home to take a few photos. Here is one of them entitled "Catching Rays". I think the title explains it all, as the beautiful blossom sitting next to my window was catching the great afternoon lighting. Since they are so thin, all of the little veins running through each bloom can be seen very well also. I just love Spring, as it never disappoints, sharing the beauty of nature all around us. Hope you enjoy this photo too!

White Bright Blossoms

This is another photo of the beautiful pear tree in bloom! These blossoms are so pretty and delicate. I only wish the tree blossomed all Spring/Summer long. This one is entitled "White Bright Blossoms", because they are just that. Thanks for looking and hope you enjoy!

Spring Unveiled

I think Spring is my favorite time of the year! I love the how the end of a long winter gives way to growth, new life, and the beauty of nature all around. I like to watch tiny buds and blooms turn into full grown flowers, the grass turn greener, the sun shining, and the blueness of the skies. This photo is of my pear tree in my front yard, which blossoms twice a year. The tiny blooms are small, but you are able to see the detail of each bloom. I am enjoying watching the beauty unfold all around me that Spring brings each year. So this photo is entitled "Spring Unveiled". I hope you like it and don't forget to look at the beauty all around, wherever you may be.

Sunday Sunrise in the City

A cold, but beautiful sunrise this morning. Living in the city, it's really hard to capture sunrise and sunset photos at home. I happened to look out the window and saw this beautiful sky. Took a photo anyway, as I thought the clouds were a spectacular color.

Mellow Yellow Alstromeria

Firstly, forgive me if my posts show up twice before now. Like I said, I am new to the whole blogging thing and had some of my settings wrong. Think they are fixed now and you will see my posts only once instead of twice :) So, while waiting for some warmer weather, I bought these beautiful Alstromeria flowers at my local grocery store. They were getting rid of them for $1.99 a bunch, so I thought they would be nice for my table. Well, two weeks later, and I cannot believe how absolutely beautiful these flowers are! The longer they sit, the more beautiful they become. More importantly, it gave me a chance to take some photos (like I need an excuse, lol). Here is a few of these beautiful flowers that have given me a reason to smile on these cold days.

Red Rose

I've always heard that when you see something "Red", photograph it. I always struggle to take photos of Red such as flowers. Went I got a dozen of these beautiful flowers last week, I grabbed my camera because it was a great opportunity to practice some more. More importantly, these roses are beautiful and smell great too! So, here is one of those beautiful Red Roses. Happy Monday!
