Gulls In Flight
So last year in May, I went to Jacksonville, FL to make a road trip back to Michigan with my daughter who decided to move back to Michigan. I was only in Florida for a few days, but oh how I am in love with the ocean! I spent much of my time at the ocean, wishing at that moment I lived there. As I was walking along the shore, kicking my toes in the water one evening, I turned around and saw these guys fly right in front of me. I just grabbed my camera and blindly shot at the birds. I got this photo, and was really happy when I saw it later. It is still another one of my favorite shots. Hope you enjoy looking at these Gulls in Flight!

Oh Spring, Where Are You?
I can't believe that it is still so cold here in Michigan. I guess we were spoiled last year by the warm weather and we just expect the same thing this year. So, while I still wait for the nicer weather, here are a few pictures that I have been fooling around with. Thanks for looking, hope you like one or all! Happy Monday!

This is where I want to be. My home away from home. The place where life is simple, no worries, and something of beauty to see everyday. It's a place on Lake Huron about two hours from our home. We have this little place that we can't seem to get enough of in the Summer. Was the best investment we ever made. There is not enough money in the world to give us the peace and tranquility we find when we are here.
As I wait for the warmer weather, get rid of my shoes, and grab my camera, here is another of my abstracts that I made. I love the yellow daisies!

Abstract Blossom Tree
I can't believe one year ago, it was 82 degrees outside and today it is just 18 degrees! Here is an abstract that I made of a photo of a blossom tree. Have to find something to do when it's so cold outside. This is one of about a dozen different flower abstracts that I made. Until the weather gets a little warmer, I am utilizing a little of my creative side. Hope you like it!

Michigan Weather in Days!
Well, I was really hoping Spring was just around the corner as I saw this beautiful tree while driving down the road early on a foggy morning a week ago. I took the picture as a passenger in the car going 60 mph and was unable to get a really clear shot of this tree. It looked so beautiful and serene just sitting there in a mist of fog.
A few days later, it was raining and all of the snow was gone! Getting really happy now, as it really looks like Spring is in the air! There was even a rainbow after this rain, but I could only capture a photo from my front porch.
Two days after what I thought was Spring rain, I woke up to two inches of snow. I tell ya, Michigan is so fickle with it's weather. So again, I will wait for the real Spring, to go out and smell the air, soak up the sun, and get out there with my camera!

Winter Fades, I Hope!
Friday was an absolutely beautiful day here in Michigan. The sun was out and it smelled like Spring is in the air. I decided I had to get out with my camera for awhile and went to one of my favorite local parks near Lake St Clair to see if any of the ice had melted on the water yet. Well, it has not melted yet, but is definitely showing signs of moving in that direction. I love the way the sun was reflecting off of the snow and ice. I saw a few other weird things there too! I have so much to learn, but love each and every minute of taking photos, looking for my mistakes and what I can do better next time. One thing I've been trying to remember each time I am out is, to "look up".

Foggy Morning Serenity
Left early morning to drive 65 miles to see one of the 8-yr old grandson's wrestling tournament. The ride there was so foggy, it was hard to see more than 20 ft. in front of us. This is one of the photos that I was able to take as we were driving down the road. The farm caught my eye and it just seemed so serene sitting there all by itself in the fog. Not a great photo, but it caught my attention.

Mellow Yellow Alstromeria
Firstly, forgive me if my posts show up twice before now. Like I said, I am new to the whole blogging thing and had some of my settings wrong. Think they are fixed now and you will see my posts only once instead of twice :)
So, while waiting for some warmer weather, I bought these beautiful Alstromeria flowers at my local grocery store. They were getting rid of them for $1.99 a bunch, so I thought they would be nice for my table. Well, two weeks later, and I cannot believe how absolutely beautiful these flowers are! The longer they sit, the more beautiful they become. More importantly, it gave me a chance to take some photos (like I need an excuse, lol). Here is a few of these beautiful flowers that have given me a reason to smile on these cold days.

Tiny Bubbles!
So here I am cleaning my crockpot, when I spot all of these bubbles on top of the water. Of course I grab my camera to see if I can get a decent photo of the bubbles. This photo holds more than the bubbles you see. The random blue spots in the photo are a reflection of my skylight over the kitchen counter. I didn't even realize what they were at first, but I really liked how the camera captured the reflection of the skylight above. Oh the things we do!

Red Rose
I've always heard that when you see something "Red", photograph it. I always struggle to take photos of Red such as flowers. Went I got a dozen of these beautiful flowers last week, I grabbed my camera because it was a great opportunity to practice some more. More importantly, these roses are beautiful and smell great too! So, here is one of those beautiful Red Roses. Happy Monday!

Baby It's Cold Outside!

New to Blogging!
I'm new to this whole blogging thing, but thought it's about time to set one up. My passion is photography and I absolutely love to take photos! I'm just an amateur in the photography world, but I learn all I can from wherever or whomever I can. I want to learn it all! I also want people to be able to see the same beauty I am learning to see from the everyday mundane to the absolute stunning view this world has to offer. So, I am going to start posting some of my photos, in hopes that others may appreciate the everyday things too! :)
